I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in marriage and family relationships. I am National Board Certified and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I earned my doctoral degree in psychology and counseling at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I have both a master's and bachelor's degree in theology. I have over 20 years experience as a therapist.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with child, adolescent, and adult clients. I also provide couples/marital therapy, and have extensive experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from the University of South Alabama and have 16 years of experience as a counselor.
As a Christian, I believe that counseling should have at its core the principles demonstrated by Jesus. Therefore, His examples and His Word are the basis for the different therapy techniques that I use. I believe that all scripture is the very Words of God, and that He gave us infinite wisdom in the Bible for solving our problems. Although secular methods appear to have some benefit for counseling, they are a "band-aid" at best with regard to human pain. I have found that many of the "secular" techniques have a Biblical root, and that these techniques have changed in some aspect to take God out of them.
By the same token, I do not believe that the way to reach people is to "beat them over the head with the Bible", and force God on them. I have found that in some cases, a more subtle approach is necessary for reaching others, so as not to "scare them off." The counseling environment is a fragile one, and each case should be handled with respect to each individual.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received a bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Auburn University, and earned my master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Mobile. I provide counseling to children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I have worked in both a university and church setting in the past. I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. My areas of clinical interests include working with marriage and family systems, stress and anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships between parents and child/teen.
